About Liz Shaw Design
How it started - How it's going
Liz Shaw graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City with an Associate in Fine Arts and The School of Visual Arts in NYC with a Bachelor in Fine Arts. Through her Fine Arts background, Liz developed a passion for textile design and the practice of sustainability in the art world.
A self-taught sewer, she was inspired by her European mother who made everything from bedspreads to dresses.
Liz Shaw Design handbags, clutches and totes are functional art and forms of self-expression. Using vintage and deadstock materials, each piece is handmade, one at a time.
The "Rock" Line, which was inspired by her musician friends, incorporates glamor with functionality.
Liz Shaw Design Handbags have been featured in the LA Times, Handbag Designer 101 and in various design markets around NYC and Brooklyn.
In addition to original designs, Liz has curated a collection of vintage housewares, clothing and accessories giving clients another eco-friendly way to shop.
Liz Shaw is also a Certified Wedding Planner and Event Designer.
